Graduate Designer Role


We are looking for a dedicated and hardworking graduate designer with a passion for user centred design.

If you are excited about developing and testing innovative design solutions, are eager to learn, and aren’t afraid of diving straight into design challenges in a range of industries and brands, then this role is a great opportunity for you to grow and build your skills in an agency environment.

TrueUp is a fast moving agency, taking a specialist data-centric approach to digital marketing focusing on customer acquisition and conversion optimisation. We’re lucky to work with some awesome clients including Vodafone, LivingDNA, Standard Life & Bitdefender.

The role

You’ll be working in the design team. This means you’ll be responsible for delivering design insights, research, pixel perfect layouts and marketing assets for our clients.

This includes:

  • Developing UI and UX and marketing assets for a large range of brands
  • Creating delightful, simple experiences to convert customers
  • Partnering with people across the business to ensure your designs encompass varied perspectives
  • Working with our awesome dev team as they ship creative
  • Supporting our internal marketing and business development with the occasional print & digital promotional assets

As this is a graduate role, we won’t expect you to be fully versed in delivering perfect designs. We’ll give you first-hand practical experience and mentoring from some of the best in the business.

What we are looking for is

  • A good to great knowledge of tools such as Sketch, InVision, Indesign/Illustrator/Photoshop/After Effects
  • Strong graphic design skills: typography, layout, colour
  • Clear and concise communication skills that bring your ideas to life both verbally and visually
  • You have a passion for UI/UX design and its latest trends
  • You own a portfolio that can take us on a design user journey for at least two projects and can give us insight into your decision-making skills
  • A proactive self starter who with some guidance can make things happen by themselves and take ownership of their projects
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Bring energy, original ideas and fresh approaches to the team and projects
  • Be excited about the work and keen to learn
  • Highly enthusiastic, ambitious and passionate, eager to learn and develop
  • Interested in digital, marketing and the tech scene

Things that would be great but not essential

  • Previous experience in a design environment
  • HTML & CSS knowledge
  • Any motion skills would be a big bonus
  • Varied design experience showing you can take adapt a design or concept across a variety of channels

The process

The interview process will involve:

  • An internal review of your application and portfolio
  • An informal 15-minute chat where we can learn more about each other
  • Short design assignment for us to get a sense of how you tackle problems
  • Presentation of design task with a few key members of the team. Chat with CEO to determine cultural fit
  • Final phone call to iron out any remaining questions you may have

If you are not currently based in London, we would be happy to speak with you over video chat. This process should take around two weeks, depending on diaries.
